West Brom: Baggies eye Danny Rose

According to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, West Bromwich Albion could look to sign Danny Rose on a free transfer as Tottenham look to cancel his contract.

Rose deal eyed

Rose has played just two Premier League games so far this campaign (Transfermarkt), and it looks as though he is no longer in manager Jose Mourinho’s plans. So much so, Spurs are reportedly looking to cancel the 29-time England international’s contract.

Crook also said that Sam Allardyce may look to take the 30-year-old to the Hawthorns. He said:

“I was told there was a big chance he could follow Jack Wilshere in the sense that Tottenham could cancel his contract in this window.

“We know he’s not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans.

“West Brom and Sam Allardyce would be very keen to take him to the Hawthorns – whether he would see that as the right club to revive his career, I don’t know.”

Experience

Rose has plenty of experience both in the Premier League and in the Champions League – he has played 194 times in the former, and has also appeared in the final of European’s football’s premier club competition. Less than three years ago (May 2018), he was actually valued at £27m (Transfermarkt).

While he may not be the player he once was, Rose still has plenty to offer at Premier League level, and on a free transfer he could be exactly what Allardyce is looking for. It remains to be seen whether his contract is terminated in north London.

In other news, West Brom have been urged to move for this 28-year-old.
