West Bromwich Albion fans are eager to re-sign Dwight Gayle, it seems, after the Baggies were linked with a move for the 30-year-old.

According to The Chronicle, the Baggies remain interested in the striker as his contract at Newcastle United approaches its end – he will become a free agent at the end of this current campaign if he does not sign a new deal with the Magpies.
Gayle spent the 2018/19 term on loan with West Brom when they were in the Championship, and he enjoyed a prolific campaign. In 39 games in the second tier, he scored 23 goals and provided a further eight assists before returning to St. James’ Park.

After struggling with injuries, Gayle has not played a minute of football this term. That has not put the West Brom fans off, though, with many saying they would like him to return to The Hawthorns. They took to social media platform Twitter to share their thoughts.

Lovely player and what we need as in natural goalscorer but I can’t see it – spending some cash in Jan, toon selling and most of all wages. Hope I am wrong
