According to The Chronicle, Dwight Gayle remains on West Bromwich Albion’s radar.
Gayle still eyed by Baggies
Gayle used to play for the Baggies, managing 23 goals and eight assists in the Championship during the 2018/19 campaign.

With his contract set to run out at the end of this campaign, he could well be available on a free transfer, and as such, West Brom still have the 30-year-old on their radar.
Bargain deal
Injuries have been a problem for Gayle, certainly in more recent times – he has not played a minute of football this season for Newcastle United, instead spending the majority of his time in the treatment room. However, he is a player with plenty of ability, and he knows where the back of the net is. Throughout his career, he has 102 goals in 258 games (Transfermarkt), and was previously called “electric” by Magpies manager Steve Bruce. He was also compared to Ian Wright by Alan Pardew during his time at Crystal Palace.

On a free transfer, there could hardly be a better deal for the Baggies. Of course, by next summer, they could already be back in the second tier – they are currently in the bottom three in the Premier League and have managed just eight goals in 10 matches – but even then, he could be a huge help in trying to get them back amongst the elite.
In other news, West Brom are eyeing a move for this in-form striker.
