West Brom: Slaven Bilic to be sacked imminently

Journalist John Percy has revealed that Slaven Bilic is set to be sacked as West Bromwich Albion manager within the next 24 hours despite the 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

Bilic on the brink

As it stands, the Baggies are 19th in the Premier League, two points away from safety. They have managed just one win all season in the top flight, but the draw against City shows that they should not give up hope yet.

However, Percy has revealed that Bilic could be let go ‘in the next 24 hours’ despite the positive result.

Bizarre timing

The writing has been on the wall for a while for Bilic, but there has certainly been an improvement in recent weeks. They picked up their first win of the campaign against Sheffield United at the end of November, and were only beaten 1-0 by Manchester United and Tottenham in the two matches before that.

Why one would get rid of a manager after a draw against Pep Guardiola’s side makes no sense. The West Brom squad is not really up to the required standard to compete in the Premier League, and that shows in the table. Bilic, though, is not primarily the one at fault – he should be given more time to turn things around.

In other news, West Brom fans praise this former player.
