Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, former West Brom midfielder Carlton Palmer believes his old side will receive offers for Matheus Pereira this summer amid reports a £24m price tag has been slapped on his head.

According to The Times, after spending £8m to bring him to the Hawthorns, West Brom now believe Pereira is worth triple that given the season he has had.

While it has been a disappointing campaign for the Baggies, Pereira will be pleased with his individual efforts.

In a team that has really struggled this term, the 25-year-old has still managed to reached double figures when it comes to goals scored in the Premier League - evidence of his quality.

And now Palmer is expecting him to be a man in demand in the next transfer window following West Brom's relegation. In an exclusive interview with TT, the retired midfielder said:

"What is a fair price in the Premier League today? I mean, it's just bananas, isn't it? Anybody can put whatever price tag they want on anybody and it's whether somebody is prepared to pay that or not.

"I suppose in the current market, it's not out of the water [£24m] in the current market. I'm sure they're going to have offers."

Undoubtedly, after the season he has had, it is hard to imagine Pereira not getting a move this summer and dropping back down to the Championship.
