West Brom: Baggies in talks for Mbaye Diagne

According to The Daily Mail, West Bromwich Albion have held talks with Galatasaray over a loan deal for striker Mbaye Diagne.
Baggies want loan deal for Diagne
West Brom have already secured two signings during this January transfer window in Robert Snodgrass (wba.co.uk) and Andy Lonergan, and Sam Allardyce has said that the Baggies are likely to make “250 enquiries” this month as they look to improve their squad (BBC).
Only Burnley and Sheffield United have scored fewer goals than West Brom’s 14 goals in the Premier League this season (Sky Sports). As such, a new striker could well be needed, and the Midlands outfit have made an approach for Senegal international Diagne.
Prolific
Diagne may not be a household name in the UK, but he certainly knows where the back of the net is. So far this campaign, he has 11 goals in 18 matches in Turkey (Transfermarkt), with his overall record at Gala standing at 22 strikes in 39 matches. In fact, he has 60 goals in his last 80 games.
Would you like to sign Mbaye Diagne?
Yes

No

A loan deal makes perfect sense for West Brom. Although he is only valued at £2.88m by Transfermarkt, his goalscoring record means Galatasaray are surely in a strong position to demand considerably more than that amount. For six months, Diagne could be exactly what Allardyce is looking for and if he isn’t able to keep the Baggies up, then they aren’t on the hook for a big transfer fee.
In other news, West Brom are interested in signing this former Champions League finalist.
