According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, West Bromwich Albion have failed in a bid to sign Ozan Tufan from Fenerbahce.
Tufan bid failed
Okay Yokuslu is on the verge of completing a move to the Hawthorns (Sky Sports), and it seems Sam Allardyce wanted another Turkey international to make the move to the Midlands. They made a bid of €7m (£6.2m), but that was not enough for Fenerbahce.
Tufan could have been a very good capture for West Brom. With 55 caps to his name at the age of 25, he has four goals and five assists in the Super Lig so far this term (Transfermarkt). He is comfortable in defensive, central or attacking midfield areas, as well, meaning he would have provided great versatility to West Brom.
Would you like to sign Tufan?
Unfortunately, the money offered by the Baggies was not enough, and they were clearly not really to pay over the odds this month. Whether that is a decision that they live to regret remains to be seen.
In other news, the Baggies eye this Tottenham defender on Deadline Day.
