West Bromwich Albion: Fans disappointed with Romaine Sawyers’ performance

A number of West Bromwich Albion fans were disappointed with what they had seen from Romaine Sawyers in their win against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.

An own goal from Donervon Daniels in the first half and Semi Ajayi in the second half were enough for the Baggies to head back to the top of the Championship and leapfrog Leeds United in the process.

Slaven Bilic’s side had been on a poor run of form recently, however a win against the division’s rock-bottom side might be enough to give The Hawthorns outfit the lift they possibly need to get things back on track and make their way back to the Premier League.

Indeed, fans will likely have been pleased with their side picking up the three points on Saturday, but it would seem many of them were far from happy with what they saw from Sawyers on the afternoon.

According to WhoScored’s data, the 28-year-old made a total of four tackles, two interceptions and took two shots on goal as he received a match rating of 7.51.

But, some of the West Brom faithful found it difficult to be impressed with the midfielder’s display with some suggesting that he had struggled for the duration of the game.
