According to the Daily Mirror, West Ham are lining up a January swoop. The 33-year-old was heavily linked with Manchester United this summer, with Romelu Lukaku going to Inter Milan, but that deal seemingly fell through.
Of course, moving for a striker makes total sense as Javier Hernandez joined Sevilla, and Michail Antonio is currently out on the sidelines, while the Hammers also let Marko Arnautovic, Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll leave.
However, the Croatia international has yet to play for Juventus this season and did not make the Italian giants’ Champions League squad.
Here’s how the Hammers fans reacted to the reports…
Too old

Seems to go against our recent transfer policy. Loan maybe for cover but can’t see it.
