West Ham need to snap up these two players to help ensure a top half finish

The Hammers fans in the Tavern are hoping to end the campaign on a high by achieving a solid top-half finish despite a disappointing start to the season.

Slaven Bilic would’ve begun the league campaign full of optimism; a new stadium, a 7th place finish in the Premier League and a squad of players fighting for the badge alongside a genuine world star in Dmitri Payet.

However, this season Bilic has had to contend with crowd trouble at the new London Stadium, poor league form, the demise and eventual exit, of their French talisman, as well as a number of poor performances elsewhere in the ranks.

The Irons are an iconic London club and have lofty ambitions for the future.  A top half finish and European qualification have been sighted as achievable targets by the senior figures at the club who will not accept mediocrity.

So, how does the charismatic Croatian rebuild the atmosphere in the stadium, maintain a strong league position and grow a squad capable of challenging for European qualification?  Here at the Tavern, we think Bilic should snap up these TWO players.

Gylfi Sigurdsson

With the imminent departure of Dmitri Payet it will be crucial for West Ham to bolster the creativity in the midfield area and add a dead ball specialist to the ranks.

Sigurdsson is an exceptional player with Premier League experience and would excel at the Hammers and may relish the opportunity to challenge at the right end of the league table.

Kieron Trippier

West Ham have been rocky in defence for much of the season and lack of an experienced and dynamic right back limits Bilic’s options.

Kieron Tripper is currently a backup option for Tottenham due to the form of Kyle Walker. He will add an attacking threat, defensive ability and an energy to the West Ham’s team.
