West Ham: Fans rage at Said Benrahma’s omission against Manchester City - West Ham News

West Ham United are taking on Manchester City in the first Premier League game of the day.

Having taken a 1-0 lead into half-time against Pep Guardiola’s side, you would expect the Hammers fan base to be pleased. However, some have found a reason to complain, namely a decision from David Moyes.

The manager has not named new signing Said Benrahma in the matchday squad, much to the disappointment of many fans who were very excited to see him play.

The winger had a terrific campaign last season for Brentford as he scored 17 goals and also supplied nine assists (WhoScored). He often proved a menace for opposition defences, as highlighted by his remarkable match averages of 3.8 shots, 2.1 key passes and three dribbles.

He has earned a lot of praise in the Championship, including from his former manager Thomas Frank, who called him ‘magnificent’.

Journalist Sam Inkersole confirmed it was not due to injury but more down to fitness. However, Benrahma’s omission did not go down well with these Irons fans, one of whom branded Moyes “stubborn”.
