Speaking to Football Insider, Sky Sports pundit Paul Robinson has tipped a major boost for David Moyes in the form of a new deal for mainstay goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski – going on to say that GSB ‘will be trying’ to get it done behind the scenes.
Fabianski, who is currently out after missing the game with Everton due to a thigh strain picked up in the warm-up, is likely to return for West Ham’s next Premier League encounter against Burnley on January 16th (Claret & Hugh) – and his time on the treatment table could present an opportunity to get him tied down with a new deal.
Should West Ham tie down Lukasz Fabianski?
Yes, next thing to do
No, focus on incomings
Robinson, speaking to Football Insider, has tipped GSB to be working on that very move behind the scenes – whilst urging the club to get it done and expressing that he’s ‘surprised’ over their inability to complete talks sooner.

The shot-stopper also revealed that talks were ‘ongoing‘, and Robinson has backed GSB up in their attempts to potentially trying to get it done as soon as possible.
“They should be doing everything they can to keep hold of him,” he explained to Football Insider.
“I’m surprised that West Ham have allowed him to go so deep into a contract without offering him a new one.
“From West Ham’s point of view or David Moyes’ point of view I’m sure they’ll be trying to tie him down to another deal.”
Transfer Tavern take
Whether or not GSB manage to agree to a bumper new contract like they did with Michail Antonio remains to be seen, but it could be a necessity given that the goalkeeper’s current deal expires at the end of this season.
Despite being free to negotiate with other clubs this month, Fabianski’s admission that he is keen to complete an agreement should ease any worries of Irons supporters.
