West Ham see 28-year-old goal-getter as ideal solution, approach made

There are a few Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern that remain steadfast in their belief Lucas Perez is a top quality forward and it seems they are not the only ones holding this thought, with The Times claiming that West Ham have already enquired about his availability ahead of the summer.

The Hammers famously searched for a new striker last year before being forced to settle for a loan move for Simone Zaza, who was such a flop that he was allowed to return to Juventus in January, who have since shipped him on to Valencia.

And The Times are now reporting that the Irons are once again back in the hunt for attacking additions, with Perez a player they are keen on.

It’s claimed that the east Londoners have already contacted their cross-city rivals about a potential arrangement at the end of the season, although it’s mooted that he will not come cheap given a £26m offer from a Chinese Super League side was rebuffed during the winter.

Although the 28-year-old has struggled for game time since joining the Gunners, and is reportedly ready to leave, he has still managed seven goals in all competitions, adding to his impressive haul of 17 in La Liga for Deportivo La Coruna across 2015/16.

Lucas Perez would be a great addition for West Ham – agree?
