Flocking to Twitter, many West Ham United fans have gone wild following reliable club insider ExWHUemployee's update on transfer target Jesse Lingard.

There have been many twists and turns in this particular transfer saga over the last few days as West Ham remain in the hunt to sign him for David Moyes.

The 28-year-old snubbed a permanent summer move to the London Stadium in favour of playing his way back into contention at Manchester United.

However, having played just 64 Premier League minutes this season, Lingard has stalled new contract talks as he favours a potential move away in January (ESPN). West Ham are one of the clubs who are well in contention, even if the Red Devils would apparently be reluctant to sell to a top four Premier League rival (The Telegraph).

The England international even dropped a teasing hint on Instagram, and ExWHUemployee has now ratified information shared on The West Ham Way website in a very promising update.

According to Ex's and the website's information, Lingard has 'made it clear' that he wishes to return to West Ham over the winter window.

Additionally, the player's own brother/agent is keen on the move and the Hammers want to agree a potential deal quickly, especially considering Said Benrahma's involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.

 West Ham fans go wild...

As the Manchester United playmaker allegedly makes his intentions clear on a move to West Ham, with the east London club just as keen for it to happen, it's little wonder so many Hammers fans have gone wild on social media.

The England international enjoyed a phenomenal 2020/21 loan spell in the capital and it is widely believed that Lingard is one of Moyes' major transfer priorities for January alongside the signing of a new striker and star centre-half (The Evening Standard).

As West Ham potentially edge closer to their man, it's safe to say that plenty of Irons supporters are buzzing over what one of them called 'fantastic news'.
