According to The Daily Star, West Ham United are set to battle a number of Premier League clubs in an attempt to sign Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard.
Hammers eye Damsgaard
Damsgaard only moved to Italy from Denmark last summer, but he is already attracting interest from England.
The Hammers are believed to be interested in a move for the £7.2m-valued 20-year-old (Transfermarkt), while Tottenham, Southampton and Leeds United have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Damsgaard has settled in nicely in Serie A, scoring twice and providing four assists for his current side this term (Transfermarkt). Last season, he managed 11 goals and seven assists in 37 games in all competitions for Nordsjaelland, showing he knows where the back of the net is.
Would you like to sign Damsgaard?
He seems to be a player with plenty of versatility, having lined up in central and attacking midfield, on the left-wing and as a centre-forward in his so-far short career.
In Tomas Soucek, David Moyes already has a midfielder who likes a goal – he has eight in the Premier League this campaign. This seems like a good opportunity to add another goalscoring talent to his squad with the London outfit looking to continue their impressive form moving forward.
In other news, the price tag has been set for this West Ham star.
