West Ham United: Chelsea going to make a fresh bid for Declan Rice in January - West Ham Transfer Rumours

Declan Rice has a special place in the hearts of many West Ham fans as he is a product of their academy. There had been some talk about him receiving a new contract but now, it looks like Chelsea will make another move to sign him in January.

According to the Athletic, and tweeted out by @whufc_news, Chelsea are reportedly preparing a fresh bid for Rice and will try to prise the midfielder from West Ham in the January window.

The defensive midfielder is a key asset for the club and is a player the fans would almost certainly want to keep around.

He averaged 3.1 tackles and two interceptions a game last season (WhoScored), as well as picking up one goal and three assists, so keeping hold of such a consistent performer would certainly be a huge boost.

The £49.50 million-valued ace is a key player in David Moyes’ side, playing every minute of their season so far; and there is ample time for the England international to get even better as his career develops.

Given the replies to the original tweet, it seems like many Hammers fans, like those below, aren’t taking much notice about the report.

Here is how Hammers fans are reacting to this news about Rice:
