Flocking to Twitter, a number of West Ham fans have been left devastated after Hammers insider ExWHUemployee dropped an unfortunate update on transfer target Ben Brereton Diaz.
Manager David Moyes has just one first-team striker at his disposal in Michail Antonio. However, the Jamaica international has wavered in and out of goal-scoring form this season.
He emphatically scored four in the Hammers’ opening three Premier League matches, but has only been able to double his tally in the following 18 games.
Luckily for Moyes, winger Jarrod Bowen has stepped up to the plate, scoring six goals and tallying nine assists, firing the Irons up to fifth place in the league table.
However, it is clear that the club need to bring in an extra striker to rival Antonio, or at least allow for rotation given his extensive injury history, as they make a bid for Champions League qualification.

However, ExWHUemployee took to Twitter to respond to Irons fans who were questioning the striker’s exclusion from Blackburn’s squad in their 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough, claiming that it was down to being called upon for international duty, rather than any significant transfer update taking place.
Many fans took to the comments to respond, and here’s what some of them said…
“so it’s not happening?”
“Are we signing anyone?”
“so no deal then”
“Good thing we’ve got a back-up to Antonio.”
“He’s not back until the window is shut so if Moyes wants him it will be difficult”
