West Ham United: David Moyes refuses to rule out January signings with enticing four-word hint

Speaking in a press conference, via Football Daily, West Ham United boss David Moyes has refused to rule out January incomings despite a supposed lack of income – with the Scotsman going on to drop a promising four-word hint that the Irons could be active this month.

Consistent injury issues for Michail Antonio, as well as a potentially long lay-off for defender Arthur Masuaku, have prompted rumours to circulate over a potential January deal for the Hammers given their lack of depth in some areas.

Moyes drops four-word transfer hint

Going forward particularly, Moyes seems to be heavily reliant on polarising club-record acquisition Sebastien Haller, while he has also had to abandon his three at the back formation which served him well at the start of the campaign due to Masuaku’s injury.

Despite looking in better shape after their impressive 1-0 win away to Everton, GSB may need to reinforce West Ham this month as the transfer window officially opens.

Moyes, speaking to the press, has dropped a cryptic four-word hint that this could happen – going on to say he ‘might go for it‘ if a decent opportunity arises in January.

This comes after the Irons manager also confirmed a message he received from his controversial backers, with GSB apparently stating outright they will support mid-season signings upon his request.

Transfer Tavern take

Taking all this into account, it appears West Ham’s transfer decisions rest with Moyes as he contemplates making moves – coming as the club are heavily linked with Bournemouth striker Joshua King.

Whether or not Moyes decides to test GSB’s promise this window remains to be seen, but if the club are to qualify for Europe, they may need to invest in some areas.
