West Ham United are set to play a behind closed doors friendly against Tottenham Hotspur to test out the fitness of a few players including Carlos Sanchez, according to club insider @ExWHUemployee.
The Colombian international has not been in the matchday squad for the Hammers in any of their last three Premier League fixtures against Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester City and Liverpool (Transfermarkt). In truth, he has not been a regular at all this season and has played just six times in total in the Premier League, managing just 113 minutes on the pitch (Transfermarkt).
However, with @ExWHUemployee suggesting that Tomas Soucek could be out for two to three weeks, they are likely to need more cover in central midfield and they will be able to see how fit the 34-year-old is with a view to potentially getting him back into the 18 by using him in the game against Spurs.
It seems that plenty of West Ham fans aren’t keen for Sanchez to return to the fold. though, with many taking to Twitter to admit that they would prefer him to stay out of the picture.
Here is what some had to say…
Hopefully Sanchez won’t be fit.

Don’t want to rush Sanchez back, give it another 4 or 5 months
