An amazing statistic regarding new West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek has emerged in the aftermath of their 2-0 defeat against Manchester City last week.
According to The Sun, the east London club’s analysis department were left stunned after finding out that the Czech Republic international had ran 13.1km at the Etihad, which equates to just over eight miles.
When speaking about the distance that the 24-year-old had covered, manager David Moyes suggested that it was more than any Hammers player had ran in a single game for the club in the last six years (The Sun). Indeed, that is quite remarkable and shows great commitment from a player who only joined the club on loan from Slavia Prague in January (whufc.com).
However, it seems that quite a few West Ham fans aren’t actually that impressed with the stat. Some suggested that it wasn’t that hard to better the records of his teammates as they don’t work hard enough, whilst others simply didn’t think that it was anything to get excited about.
Here is what some had to say after reading the stat on Twitter…

Can’t say I’m surprised. Some of them struggle to walk from the dressing room.
