West Ham United are considering making a move for Slavia Prague midfielder Tomas Soucek, that is according to a report from Sam Inkersole for football.london.
It is suggested that the 24-year-old is valued by the Czech outfit at around €25 million, but that the Hammers could potentially sign him for half that on a deal which would see him move to east London on loan initially with an option to buy.
A midfielder is thought to be high on David Moyes’ list of priorities before the transfer deadline on 31st January. Whilst Declan Rice and Mark Noble have been mainstays in the team, the back-up to them hasn’t really been up to much with Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez playing less than 300 minutes in the Premier League between them (Transfermarkt).
Soucek has been in fantastic form for Slavia Prague too, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists from midfield including a couple of strikes against Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League (Transfermarkt).
It seems that plenty of West Ham fans rate the 25-time Czech international quite highly, with some taking to Twitter to suggest that he is a great player and could be an excellent addition. Here is what some had to say…
He’s a very good player

There are a few players in that Slavia Prague team I wouldn’t mind bringing to West Ham. Soucek being one of them.

Someone I have actually watched a number of times! Good record and has even done well in European comps. Signed a new deal last summer I think

From what I’ve heard a good player. But why all the loans. It’s getting a joke now. This position should have been sorted in the summer.
