Many West Ham United fans are reacting as it looks like the club still might look to sign Joshua King from Championship outfit AFC Bournemouth.
According to reliable source @ExWHUemployee, King’s wage demands are no way near as high as first thought. The Irons bid £13m before and it is thought that £18m should secure him if they want to acquire him.
King has scored 50 goals in his 171 appearances for the Cherries , per Transfermarkt, including 48 in the Premier League. This highlights that he would seemingly be a good option to bolster the attack for West Ham, who have enjoyed a fantastic run of form in their last couple of league matches, outscoring Wolves and Leicester by a combined score of 7-0.

It is also a positive that his wage demands may not be an issue after all, so this should encourage the club to make a move for the player before Friday’s domestic deadline.
The possible transfer has received a very mixed reaction from a lot of the Irons fan base though, with plenty of fans believing the swoop is a bit expensive for a player who is 29 years-old and in the last year of his contract.
Here is how West Ham fans reacted upon hearing the transfer update:

Bit steep with the £18mil and I can’t help but wonder where he gets in. Great player but we still have a fair few capable of playing in wide areas. Do we want to sell Ajeti £5m and replace him for £18m. Benrahma looks a step up in class.

Such a terrible deal if we pay this for a player in the last year of contract if he had 3 or more years left maybe but would say to his agent Bournemouth over pricing wait til Jan sign pre agreement and instead of paying them for transfer will give him big 8m or so signing fee

@ExWHUemployee what’s going on with our transfer policy? Do we even have one? I’m doubting the Benrahma bid is serious and can’t see the logic even if it is! Why waste time chasing £30m defenders to then get Dawson on loan? Is it panic?

There has to be a compromise, we need some reinforcements but the is NO WAY that King is worth £18mil given his age/contract situation
Ball has to drop at some point, hopefully Bournemouth can see sense

No way that we would try and sign both? Are we looking at signing any other players considering how thin the squad looks? LWB cover, CM cover and ST cover are all needed

Just get him in! Much more versatile than Benrahma and proper replacement for Antonio when he is out.
