Manchester United still have lots of work to do if they’re to secure Champions League football come the end of the season as after their 0-0 home draw with West Brom, things are getting tough for Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.

Fans here in the pub are growing frustrated at the lack of home wins this campaign and after the draw with the Baggies, the Red Devils faithful have now seen a monumental eight draws at Old Trafford this season.

You can only imagine how well United would be doing if they had turned those draws into wins and in honesty, they don’t deserve to be mixing it with the likes of Chelsea at the top of the table.

And even the landlord in the tavern thinks things have been poor this campaign. But as in any team, there are still players that are of huge importance to the future success of this side.

So with that in mind, here’s the 2 stars Manchester United really can’t afford to lose this summer…

Wayne Rooney

Arguably one of the biggest and most successful names to have ever turned out for Manchester United, Wayne Rooney’s time at Old Trafford might be coming to an end.

There’s many suggesting the England man might be leaving come the end of the season but for us, he’s a player that still has a lot to give at this level for United.

Experience-wise he’s up there with the best in the game and fans here in the pub are torn as to whether they want to see him stay at the club. But for us, even if it’s for one more year, Rooney deserves the chance at Old Trafford.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a class act this season and deserves all the plaudits he gets. The only question mark over him has to be his age.

But he remains a massively important player for the Red Devils and if they can hang onto his services for another season, United will be very grateful indeed.

Of course, he’s not getting any younger but in wide spells this campaign, he’s shown that he is more than capable of carrying his side with the character and skill we’ve gotten used to seeing from the burly Swede.
