Spurs cut Chelsea’s lead at the top of the Premier League table this weekend as they fought to a tough 2-0 away win at Burnley at Turf Moor.
Spurs fans here in the Tavern were delighted with what they saw at arguably the toughest place to go in the division, with the Clarets having been exceptionally good at home for large parts of the campaign.
But even without star-striker Harry Kane leading the line, Spurs impressed in Lancashire and lessened the gap to just seven points which could prove decisive come the end of the Premier League season, especially with Chelsea losing 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace this weekend too.
And what it highlighted perhaps more than anything is how important it is that Pochettino hangs onto some of his biggest players this summer, something the landlord here in the pub feels is as important as bringing big names in.
So with that in mind, here’s the TWO stars Spurs really can’t afford to lose this summer…
Harry Kane

Probably the easiest shout in this list, Harry Kane is single-handedly the most important player in this Spurs side and he’s been superb for the whole campaign.
He’s adored by the Spurs fans here in the pub and the team now have to play on without him as he sits out with an injury.
But with various other players really carrying the gauntlet at the moment, he hasn’t been that missed just yet but the last thing they want to do this campaign is lose him to a Premier League rival.
Christian Eriksen

Another player who has been absolutely superb this season is Christian Eriksen, who continues to shine in this current Spurs outfit.
He perhaps doesn’t get the credit he deserves at times and there are many supporters here in the Tavern that are surprised some of the bigger sides in the world haven’t come in for his services just yet.
But he’s a man that is a huge part of Pochettino’s plans going forward and Spurs need to keep hold of him as long as possible.
