The Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern have been waxing lyrical about Harry Kane, singing, “he’s one of our own”.
It was another special performance from the homegrown striker, who netted a hat-trick against Burnley in a comfortable 3-0 win at Turf Moor.
Three more goals against Burnley took Kane’s tally to 15 Premier League goals for the season, which makes him this campaign’s joint top scorer with Liverpool winger Mo Salah at this stage.
And 2017 has also been a special year for the 24-year-old with his third goal yesterday moving him to 36 strikes in this calendar year – equal with Alan Shearer’s record from 1995.
A goal against Southampton would see the England international break that record.
