Nottingham Forest fans will feel relieved that the international break has arrived as their side were starting to lose their way. Indeed, the Midlands club can still aim for the play-offs in the current campaign but it won’t be easy as there’re a number of teams constantly grinding out positive results.
Martin O’Neill hasn’t quite managed to find the winning consistency that could take Forest into the play-offs since taking charge at the City Ground, which has frustrated a number of supporters.
Although, Forest fans received a huge boost on the transfer front recently, as according to the Shields Gazette, Jack Colback, who is valued at £2.7 million (by Transfermarkt), is keen to stay at the City Ground if a deal could be thrashed out.
“If you ask me if I would like to come back and sign permanently, the answer is yes.”
“It is not as easy as that in football. Forest themselves have to commit to a permanent deal. Then you have to work out that deal.”
“It is not as straightforward as a yes or no. But I have enjoyed my time here and, if the opportunity arose, it is one I would view positively, with good thought.”
Supporters have warmed to him already and he’s played a key part in Forest’s push for a play-off spot this season, so he’s done more than enough to warrant a permanent move to Forest.
Therefore, Martin O’Neill simply has to secure a deal for the midfielder in the summer as he’s been one of the standout performers for Forest in the current campaign and he constantly controls the middle of the park, as well as saving his side on a number of occasions with last-ditch tackles.
