Our Hearts fans here in the Transfer Tavern are in great spirits today after they battered Rangers last night 4-1.
It’s been, as usual in the last few years, a bit of a procession in terms of the league title with Celtic running away with things but the race for the top three is certainly looking interesting.
The Gers are currently in 2nd on 42 points with Aberdeen on 40 in 3rd and Hearts in 4th on 34.
The Jambos are joined by St. Johnstone with the same amount of points and so we’ve got a very competitive looking race for the spots behind the Bhoys.
Indeed, beating Rangers so emphatically has certainly opened the race up a bit and so we could be set for a late surge against the Gers.
Meanwhile, it’s a result that Ian Cathro will have certainly enjoyed after under-going plenty of criticism since his appointment.
Having never played football at a competitive level many felt that the young manager would not be cut out to handle the pressure in the Scottish top flight but last night suggested he surely is – much to the delight of many on Twitter.
