Tottenham Hotspur supporters in the Transfer Tavern are thrilled by the news that Toby Alderweireld is close to negotiating a contract extension.
Since joining Southampton on a season-long loan deal (before joining Tottenham on a permanent transfer) the Belgian has established himself as one of the most competent and capable defenders in the division.
The 28-year-old is highly regarded for his terrific concentration and excellent passing ability. He also displays supreme technical ability, and he certainly isn’t afraid of switching play if required.
Without a doubt, he’s adored by our resident Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern who’ll all be ordering another round when news of his extension filters through.
