Liverpool endured a tough summer this time round with the constant rumours surrounding Philippe Coutinho somewhat of a constant distraction as Jurgen Klopp tried to prepare his side for the upcoming season.
The Brazilian midfielder was long courted by Barcelona all summer long, but ultimately failed in their bid to bring the former Inter Milan midfielder to the Camp Nou, with Liverpool holding their ground.
It remains to be seen whether Klopp will work Coutinho back into his team, and his inclusion in the European squad in midweek suggests he could be back in the German’s thoughts.

With Sadio Mane set to serve a three match ban for his controversial red card last weekend, Liverpool are going to need someone to pull the strings and create the chances needed for Liverpool to see off the Clarets.
Despite making his feelings known over the summer about his potential move to Barcelona, Coutinho remains a Liverpool player, and the player himself will no doubt want to keep playing in the hope of maintaining his form and forcing through a January move if possible.
Liverpool though can reap the benefits of having Coutinho back in their squad and he can definitely help them this weekend and in coming weeks in terms of getting points on the board for the Reds.
