Wilfried Zaha handed further one-game ban

Crystal Palace will host West Ham United at Selhurst Park on Saturday but Roy Hodgson’s side may be without one of their key men for the London derby.

According to Sky Sports, Wilfried Zaha has been handed a one-game ban and could potentially miss the weekend’s fixture.

The Ivorian was shown two quick yellow cards in the match against Southampton after reacting to a decision the referee made in a sarcastic manner.

The 26-year-old was also fined £10,000 for the incident and was handed a charge of improper conduct.

Despite accepting the charge, Zaha could still be available to feature for The Eagles, as the suspension is not in effect when a player has the opportunity of appealing against the decision.

The Verdict:

The possibility of Zaha being suspended for the game against West Ham will come as a huge blow to Crystal Palace and Hodgson.

The Ivorian has been a key player for The Eagles for a number of seasons and has come up with a number of important contributions for his club throughout this campaign as well.

The match against The Hammers will certainly be a test for the Selhurst Park outfit and will only be made even more difficult if Zaha is banned for the encounter.
