Rangers interim manager Graeme Murty has made a real case for a full-time appointment in the past week after beating Aberdeen home and away last week to leapfrog their rivals into 2nd place in the Scottish Premiership. Victory tasted all the sweeter for Murty considering that Aberdeen’s manager Derek McInnes has been widely tipped to succeed Pedro Caixinha at Ibrox in recent weeks.
Despite McInnes failure to claim a single point in two fixtures against the Gers last week, stories linking him with the vacant managerial post continue to persist in the Scottish media.
The latest report that emerged from the Scottish Sun yesterday afternoon claimed McInnes is set to join the club and bring former Rangers star Barry Ferguson with him as part of his backroom staff.

It is fair to say the reports provoked a mixed response from supporters who have sharply contrasting opinions on the merits of Ferguson’s input at the club.
Whilst a small handful of supporters would like to see him return, it seems the majority would prefer the club to avoid bringing Ferguson back to Ibrox.
