The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are fearing the worst after reading a story from Mohamed Bouhafsi on Twitter that claims Anthony Martial is keen to leave Old Trafford this summer. The Frenchman hasn’t been a regular under Jose Mourinho and now the club could pay for his lack of action by losing the star altogether.
The versatile attacker who can be deployed on either wing or up front has been left out of the French squad travelling to the World Cup this summer as he simply hasn’t played enough first-team football at club level. The Red Devils in the pub have taken a liking to the winger, who always seems to impress with the ball at his feet when he’s given the chance, and they couldn’t think of anything worse than losing the superstar.
The talent that Martial has is unquestionable, although the criticism of him comes that he’s lazy and doesn’t contribute enough defensively to fit the system that Mourinho operates. Meanwhile, the club has the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford who have been preferred to the young French star because of their willingness to track back help out the full-backs behind them.
Unsurprisingly, fans online aren’t happy with the news, and Martial appears very popular. Some of the frustration is being directed to Jose Mourinho, whilst most is just born out of anger.

Rooney questioned United's ambitions at one point? Ronaldo said United were treating him like a slave, but here we are questioning Martial's behaviour yet the guy hasn't once spoken in public about United.

LVG wasn’t ultra defensive, he played a possession game. We dominated teams but couldn’t always score. Whenever we did score it was Martial.

As you can see, the mood among the United fans is that of unrest. The last thing the fans want is to lose out on their extremely talented French winger, especially not to a rival with both Tottenham and Chelsea likely waiting in the wings.
