Our Liverpool fans here inside the Transfer Tavern are seeing if Reds boss Jurgen Klopp can show a ruthless streak in the summer by transferring out some star players.
In recent times, Liverpool have really turned on the gas and are firmly within the Champions League spots, much to the delight of our resident Reds in the bar. Jurgen Klopp will want that to continue straight up until May no doubt as he looks to finish the campaign as strongly as possible to gain much-needed momentum for next season.
Indeed, in the run-up to the end of the season, Liverpool will be looking to use it as a building block in order to move on to further things next year. Furthermore, with it being a World Cup, certain players will be using the tournament as a window to move on, after things have not gone the way they would have liked so far this campaign.
With that in mind, our landlord has been having a look at the Liverpool squad and seeing which two players could earn a move away with a good World Cup…
Simon Mignolet

The ‘keeper has been as inconsistent in between the sticks as his manager has been with his choice of keeper each week. With Klopp failing to settle on a No.1 on a permanent basis, this has surely hindered Mignolet into gaining confidence and momentum in the team.
As the toing and froing seems to have slowed down recently in favour of Loris Karius, the Belgian will be eager to impress if he gets the chance at the World Cup and force a move through.
Emre Can

Emre Can has been a target for Juventus recently and as the German’s contract is set to run out at the end of the season, many in the bar have some doubt over his commitment to the club. With that in mind, Klopp may start to restrict his appearances as he looks to build for next season.
Also with the midfield open to a move, the World Cup will be the perfect platform to showcase what he can bring to a team.
