Plenty of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are gushing over their former player Dean Richards after the Midlands club’s official Twitter page shared a throwback goal of his.
In the footage, Richards can be seen picking the ball up from the wing after some nice play in the build-up, before perhaps getting a lucky break and then driving a neat finish into the bottom corner, which was a last-minute winner against Barnsley at Oakwell back on the 20th March 1999.
As per Wolves’ official website, Richards spent four seasons at Molineux, as he was a dominant force at the heart of defence. Nevertheless, he still found the net four times in 100 appearances in gold and black, including the strike shown which meant that WWFC won the game 3-2 after being 2-0 down.
Supporters can test their knowledge by naming the rest of the players to have featured in that game here.
