Plenty of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are still emotional over the Midlands club’s promotion from the EFL Championship to the Premier League two years ago as memories in the form of a throwback clip were shared on their official Twitter page.
The Wanderers were confirmed to be heading into the top flight with four games to spare after Fulham drew with Brentford in April of that season, as per the BBC.
The former needed to win all of their four remaining matches to stand a chance of catching WWFC, but Neal Maupay, who now plays for Brighton in the top flight, scored an equaliser in injury time to earn the Bees a 1-1 draw.
Wolves had been top of the table since the 18th November 2017, and never looked back as Nuno Espirito Santo spurred them on to victory.
The club played 52 matches in all competitions under the Portuguese coach that campaign, winning 33, drawing 10 and losing nine, scoring 88 goals and conceding 45, according to Transfermarkt.
