Wolves fans on Twitter were disgusted with their side’s performance yesterday

Yesterday saw Huddersfield Town extend their winning run against Wolves to an incredible four games. Aaron Mooy’s double either side of half-time downed Nuno Espirito Santo’s side and it was a result that left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Wolves fans, as it had a touch of complacency about it.

Before the game, the stats all pointed out that The Terriers could easily pull it out of the bag and shock last season’s Championship winners. The last three games between the sides before yesterday all finished 1-0 in favour of David Wagner’s side, however, it seems the Molineux side failed to heed the warnings and went into the game believing it was three points in the bag at home against the side at the foot of the table.

That simply was not the case, though. Mooy’s opening goal inside the first ten minutes had a touch of class about it and a shell-shocked Molineux could only watch on as Huddersfield continued to apply pressure and look good for their early lead. Then with around 15 minutes to go Mooy killed off the game with his second goal of the game, and of 2018, as Nuno watched on with horror. It was not the performance of a side who have taken points off of Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City and with Cardiff away up next, getting three points will be crucial.

Wolves fans everywhere will be desperate to bounce back against Cardiff next week and will hope yesterday’s performance can quickly be forgotten.
