Sky Sports are reporting that Wolves are interested in signing Juventus youngster, Andrea Favilli.
Juventus have only just re-signed Favilli from Ascoli, but are apparently seeking to turn a quick profit on the 21-year-old, perhaps in an attempt to offset a little of what the club has just spent on the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Favilli is a highly rated prospect in Italy, and much is expected of the young forward. He is as yet entirely unproven at the top level though.
Wolves, currently preparing for their first Premier League season since 2011/12, aren’t in a position to be gambling money on high potential wonderkids. Instead, they should be focussing on filling their squad with proven talents as they seek to establish themselves in the top flight.
The 31-year-old may not be at his blistering best, but he’s still a clinical finisher who can have a great impact upon games. He no longer has the legs to start week in week out, but he’d prove a valuable asset at Molineux over the course of the campaign.
Remy has just suffered relegation from La Liga with Las Palmas, so may be available for less than the £5.4 million Transfermarkt rate him at. If Wolves could secure him on a one or two year deal then it would be an excellent bit of business. Few would doubt his ability to grab a goal or two when his team really needs it, he’s been doing it his whole career.
Danny Ings’ injury-ravaged time at Anfield shouldn’t allow anyone to forget what an excellent Premier League striker he was prior to his move. Even now, when fully fit, Ings is consistently selected in Jurgen Klopp’s match day squads. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been fully fit very often at all.
A change of scene can often be a good thing for a player in that situation, and a move to Wolves would allow the English striker to push to be a starter again and get back into the international picture.
Transfermarkt value Ings at £7.2 million. If he could maintain his fitness at Wolves, then Nuno Espirito Santo could be onto a bargain.
