Wolves suffer setback in pursuit of Scott McKenna

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be sure to bring in a number of players during the January transfer window, so they could still challenge for a European spot this season.

The Midlands club have been completely redefined under Nuno Espirito Santo as they continue to put in accomplished performances against some of the best teams in English football. However, they did suffer a setback on the transfer front, as according to the Daily Mail, Celtic are expected to revive their interest in Scott McKenna.

Interestingly, Wolves have been linked with a move for Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna.

However, Celtic are expected to revive their interest in the Scotland international after Aberdeen declined to sell the Scotland international in the last window.

Nuno Santo could do with bringing in another central defender to provide competition for Ryan Bennett at the back, who has impressed but could easily be replaced in the side.

THE VERDICT:

Scott McKenna has been simply sensational for Aberdeen in the current campaign as he continues to defy expectations over in Scotland.

Wolves will have money to spend in January and the pulling power of Premier League football, but they could lose out on the central defender if he goes on in search of silverware, with Celtic being able to guarantee trophies under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park.
