Chelsea are interested in signing Wolves centre-back Max Kilman in the summer transfer window, according to a new report which has emerged.

The Lowdown: Kilman superb for Wolves

Bruno Lage's side picked up yet another important Premier League victory on Sunday afternoon, winning 2-1 at home to Leicester City.

Kilman was again superb at the heart of Wolves' defence, as he continues a fantastic season which has seen him start all 24 league games and average a whopping 3.7 clearances per game.

The 24-year-old's performances are likely to make him a man in demand come the summer transfer window, with a fresh update suggesting as much.

The Latest: Chelsea eye up move for Kilman

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are keen on signing Kilman at the end of the season, with the Wolves hero a boyhood Blues supporter.

The media outlet tweeted an emerging news story on Monday morning, revealing to followers: "BREAKING: Chelsea are considering a move for Wolves defender Max Kilman. Chelsea’s scouts have watched Kilman, a boyhood Chelsea fan, in recent weeks."

The Verdict: Potential huge loss

Kilman has been an integral part of Wolves' success this season, excelling on the right of back-three, so the idea of losing him to a Premier League rival is a concerning one.

He has been hailed as 'outstanding' by team-mate and Old Gold captain Conor Coady, and at 24, the best years of his career should still be to come.

The lure of playing for his boyhood team could be too much to turn down for Kilman, which is a concern, but the hope is that he still sees his future at Wolves, where he is earning constant starts and is clearly a favourite of Lage.

His current deal doesn't expire until 2026, though, which does at least mean that Wanderers can demand huge money for one of their most prized assets.
