The Verdict: Potential huge loss

Kilman has been an integral part of Wolves’ success this season, excelling on the right of back-three, so the idea of losing him to a Premier League rival is a concerning one.

He has been hailed as ‘outstanding’ by team-mate and Old Gold captain Conor Coady, and at 24, the best years of his career should still be to come.

The lure of playing for his boyhood team could be too much to turn down for Kilman, which is a concern, but the hope is that he still sees his future at Wolves, where he is earning constant starts and is clearly a favourite of Lage.

His current deal doesn’t expire until 2026, though, which does at least mean that Wanderers can demand huge money for one of their most prized assets.
