Manchester United fans have frowns on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern and it is all down to the Daily Express who claim that one of their former targets is nothing but pleased that he snubbed the club.
Toni Kroos, who of course elected to join Real Madrid after leaving Bayern Munich, noted that despite having a fair few options in the summer, joining the European Champions was the right choice.
Despite the success he has already enjoyed in La Liga, some of our regulars think that the Premier League would have been a far tougher test of his credentials.
The German international midfielder claimed: “I’m so happy to win the Club World Cup for a second time. This trophy is so good for Real Madrid, we are a great family.
“I chose Real Madrid and now I’m so happy. I was right to sign for Madrid.
“Before coming here, I didn’t know what to expect, but I made the decision. I was looking for something new and I was lucky that I signed for Real Madrid.”
The United fans in the tavern seem to think that Kroos may one day join a Premier League side but for now they would rather focus on bringing his Los Blancos team-mate Raphael Varane to Old Trafford and shore up that leaky defence.
Manchester United fans. Just how much difference could Kroos have made to your side? Do you think a fit Ander Herrera is better? Let us know your thoughts below.
