The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to the news that their club’s chairman, Daniel Levy, paid himself £6 million last season. The fee evens itself out to £115,000 per week, which is £15,000 more than Harry Kane who’s the highest-earning player at the club at the moment.
#THFC fans, we’d love to get your views on this.
Daniel Levy was paid over £6m last sesaon, the equivalent of £115,000 p/w, and higher than the basic salary of any Tottenham player.

Daniel Levy has become one of football’s shrewdest businessmen in years at Tottenham. The businessman engineered Spurs receiving a world record transfer fee for Gareth Bale in 2013 and is well known in the footballing world for getting players on the cheap and selling them expensively. Although the Spurs fans propping our bar up are divided in their opinions of Levy, the recent news that he’s paying himself more than any player at Spurs is sure to ruffle the feathers of some fans.
Daniel Levy has the been the chairman at Tottenham since 2001 and has seen a number of managers come and go at White Hart Lane. The 56-year-old also presented the plans for the club’s new stadium, which the Lilywhites are set to move into for the start of next season. The financial state of Tottenham has always been a cause for celebration among the fans and that’s down to the tight control of Levy, although the fans believe the businessman has gone too far with it sometimes, recently refusing to pay Toby Alderweireld his desired wages to keep him in N17 despite fans protests.

The man at the top of any company I've ever worked at was the highest earner……isnt this the norm?

Daniel Levy is worth every single penny. His shrewd business sense meaning inflated bonuses over base wages is a fantastic model and why we are in the strong financial position we are.

You say good luck to him when he’s just increased season ticket prices by up to 70%? You all live in a bubble!

There are a lot of spurs fans that dispise DL, but look at where we were before he took the helm…. he has brought us to where we are today so is it justified? Hell Yes.

I'm no fan of top executives earning big money, but it has to be acknowledged that Levy is doing incredible job at Spurs.A wage bill half of Liverpool's and a third of the Manc clubs, and still getting Champs League football.Great signings, managerial appointments, new stadium..
