‘Would rather Janssen’ - Tottenham fans fume as struggling star is compared to flop signing

The Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern are incredibly frustrated after yesterday’s draw with West Bromwich Albion at Wembley.

Indeed, Mauricio Pochettino was unable to break down a stubborn Baggies side led by Gary Megson after coming from behind and now trail league leaders Manchester City by ten points, with Pep Guardiola’s men still to play another game.

Much of the frustration amongst our north London locals has been the lack of support for Harry Kane. That’s a problem that has seemingly been in play for years now, with a back-up striker of the required level difficult to find indeed. Though Kane saved Spurs again yesterday, the overreliance on him is a worry and summer signing Fernando Llorente is not impressing those on social media.

Llorente has been as ineffectual a signing as Janssen for Spurs. Goal-scoring burden completely on Kane since Alli's production isn't great so far. Also not surprised they are less defensively assured since Toby got injured. They need him back!
