The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still absolutely gutted about the fact that a deal for French star Nabil Fekir is seemingly off. Indeed, having already landed Fabinho and with Naby Keita already through the door, the punters propping up our bar were praying the Lyon star would soon follow.
However, Lyon have recently suggested that transfer negotiations between the parties have stopped, much to the annoyance of our local Kopites. Ideally, Fekir would have come in and taken up the role vacated by Philippe Coutinho back in January and, while he seems unlikely to do so now, the need for an option in that area remains.
With that in mind, Reds online have been taking to Twitter to demand the club move for other targets. Always ambitious, Liverpool supporters have actually been urging the club to move for Real Madrid star Isco, who helped Los Blancos beat the Reds in the Champions League final last month.
The Spaniard isn’t always a start, however, and nobody quite knows what will happen there now Zinedine Zidane has departed, so perhaps there’s scope to do a deal.
