Wrexham have already made remarkable progress since their takeover, but Phil Parkinson’s side are showing no signs of slowing down as they target another step towards the Premier League.
The Welsh club are now reportedly considering a major attacking addition, with one of their targets potentially costing several times more than their current transfer record.
Wrexham Preparing Šulc Move
Wrexham are preparing a club-record bid for Lyon attacking midfielder Pavel Šulc, according to reports relayed by Yahoo! Sports, with the Czech Republic international emerging as a priority target for Parkinson.
The 25-year-old impressed during the 2025/26 campaign, registering 15 goals and 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions. His form has also continued to earn recognition at international level, with the attacking midfielder travelling to the 2026 World Cup in the summer.
Lyon are reportedly looking for somewhere between £30 million and £35 million for Šulc, although Wrexham have not yet submitted an offer matching that valuation.
Šulc only joined Lyon from Viktoria Plzeň last summer after producing 47 goals and 31 assists in 167 appearances in Czech football. He has a contract with the French side until 2029.
Lyon boss Paulo Fonseca has described the attacking midfielder as “excellent”, while his ability to play centrally or from either flank makes him an appealing option for Parkinson.
A deal at the reported valuation would comfortably smash Wrexham’s current £8m transfer record, underlining just how dramatically the club’s ambitions have changed since their Hollywood-backed takeover.
