All the talk of late in the Football Transfer Tavern suggests Wilfried Zaha will shortly be on his way to Manchester United, and a story from the Daily Express suggests the move is edging even closer.
The 20-year-old Crystal Palace winger has been attracting attention from a host of the Premier League’s top clubs, and Manchester United appear to have won the race.
Zaha – who was watched by Ferguson’s number two Mike Phelan at the weekend – tweeted: “Looks like I am on my way to the top of the Premier League.”
However, the message was later removed and replaced with: “I don’t know remember tweeting no such thing so I don’t know where the tweet came from #confused.”
The youngster has been linked with a £15million move to Old Trafford, with Crystal Palace bargaining that he is to be sent back on loan to the Selhurst Park to help with the Eagles promotion push.
