Our Chelsea fans here in the Tavern have been putting a lot of thought into team selections, and talk over at the pool table has been around the fringe players who might get a chance to impress this weekend.
Chelsea boast a squad full to the brim with talent, and their will be some players chomping at the bit to get the nod this weekend and prove a point.
With that in mind, here are TWO Chelsea players who will be desperate to prove a point today…
Cesc Fabregas
The Spanish midfielder has played bit parts for the most of this season, but today could be a chance for him to stake a claim for regular action at the Bridge.
Fabregas is a world class central midfielder, and he is only really being kept out by the form of Kante and Matic in the centre of the park.
A cup match against Wolves gives Cesc the chance to really impress Antonio Conte, and hopefully for him, get some more minutes between now and the end of the campaign.
Michy Batshuayi
The Belgian striker has hardly been a revelation since his big money move in the summer, but the talent does appear to be their for the striker.
Today gives him a chance to get the nod ahead of number one striker Diego Costa, and he will be desperate to make an impression.
A few goals today for Batshuayi would enhance his chances further and put him firmly back in Conte’s plans.
