2 Everton players fans surely cannot wait to see axed this summer

Everton fans at the Tavern are feeling pretty happy at the moment, being unbeaten in eight Premier League games.

They haven’t suffered a league defeat since their loss to Liverpool last year.

Sitting safely in seventh place, the landlord reckons Ronald Koeman and his men have a realistic shot challenging for a place in the Europa League, providing they can keep their good form going.

With a decent squad at Koeman’s disposal, Everton fans are hoping that the Dutchman doesn’t sell any of his main firepower.

There are however other players that the Toffees fans here in the Transfer Tavern would be happy to part with, so the likes of Lukaku can stay at Goodison Park.

With that in mind, here are TWO players that Everton fans would show the door to…..

Arouna Koné

Arouna Koné joined Everton in 2013 from Wigan Athletic for £6m – following the then new Everton boss Roberto Martinez.

However his time on Merseyside has been plighted by injuries, and only at times has the 33-year-old Ivorian International shown his potential.

Martinez’ time on Merseyside was not viewed in high esteem by Everton fans and so they would welcome Koné’s departure, seeing it as the end of an era.

The Ivorian’s age is also a big factor.

Toffees fans at the Tavern would much prefer a younger, fitter striker.

Aiden McGeady

Everton fans at the Tavern were eagerly excited to hear the news that McGeady was Merseyside bound back in 2014.

The Scottish born Irish international was known for his pace and skills, and was one of Spartak Moscow’s best players.

However, nothing seemed to work out for the 30-year-old at Goodison Park and has been out on loan since January 2016.

He even stated to BBC Radio Sheffield that his time with Everton made him “Forget what it was like to be a footballer.”

He joined up with Sheffield Wednesday last season yet found first-team action hard to come by.

McGeady joined Preston North End at the start of this season, where he has impressed, scoring three goals.

It’s safe to say McGeady has become a flop yet his contract doesn’t run out until next summer.

Everton supporting punters here in the Tavern are hoping that his contract be terminated or the Irishman finds a new club this summer.
