Life at Liverpool is just oh so good right now, with the Reds propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern delighted to see the club sat in second place at Christmas time.
While league leaders Chelsea are doing a good job of keeping Jurgen Klopp’s men at bay, the Merseyside titans at least have the title in their sights once more.
So then, the January transfer market could really provide the chance to bring in some reinforcements to push them further towards the league title.
As good as the Reds have looked this term, there’s obvious frailties within the ranks, mainly in defence and between the posts.
Though the New Year sales are notoriously hard to get value money (as they found out with Andy Carroll in 2011), securing Champions League qualification at least would surely make any money spent worth it.
With all this in mind, here’s the January business the Liverpool fans in the Tavern want Klopp to do.
IN: Kasper Schmeichel
Neither Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius are overly convincing between the posts for Klopp’s side, meaning the goalkeeping department remains a frailty for the Reds.
A move for Leicester City title winner Kasper Schmeichel, who proved oh so imperious during their coronation as champions of England, has been touted recently.
The Dane would be a huge upgrade.
OUT: Daniel Sturridge
One of the most lethal marksmen the club have ever had, but Daniel Sturridge is surely not content at playing second fiddle under Klopp.
Injuries and the emergence of dynamic options up front have seen the England international lose his starting berth.
Linked with moves away, surely he can’t go on sulking on the bench.
IN: Virgil van Dijk
Likely to be hugely expensive, though when have Liverpool shied away from splashing the cash on Southampton player?
The imperious Dutchman is perhaps the best defender in the Premier League and would be a huge upgrade on the current options available to Klopp.
Would be a statement and a half.
