What a way for Manchester United to finish the season!

An emotional night in Stockholm saw the Red Devils beat Ajax 2-0 to bring home the Europa League trophy, as well as confirm Champions League football for Jose Mourinho’s side next season.

Whilst Mourinho has come in for some criticism throughout the season, our landlord believes the Portuguese boss will be happy to provide three trophies for Manchester United in his first season in charge of the club.

The sixth place finish will be of small concern as Mourinho has delivered in a currency he knows too well which is a high volume of trophies won.

Our resident Red Devils are also happy with the season their club has forgone but they can still see issues at their club.

Whilst the squad has potential to kick on and to be a really dominant force across Europe, there are some points Mourinho needs to take an in depth look at in order to progress his side.

This point has caused much discussion in the Transfer Tavern and the United fans are really an opinionated lot and whilst there has been some garbage spouted by the United punters in the Tavern – there have also been some valid points made.

So, with that said our landlord has highlighted the TWO issues Mourinho seriously needs to sort out this summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future

Just like last summer, Zlatan is playing the tease with the media as he looks to make a decision on where he will be playing his football once he fully recovers from his ACL injury.

As important as the Swede has been for United this season with twenty eight goals across all competitions, Mourinho needs to ensure that he has replacements in mind should Zlatan leave Old Trafford.

The most speculated signing to United is Atletico Madrid’s French forward, Antoine Griezmann and if Mourinho activates his £89million buy out clause then there is no doubt that Griezmann will be a fantastic replacement for Ibra.

Of course, the dream is to play the two alongside each other but with Mourinho looking to already plan for next season, he could do with knowing Zlatan’s plans sooner rather than later.

Getting on side with all his players

Whether it’s a man management technique or a display of frustration, it is no secret that Mourinho is happy to criticise his players in the public press.

In recent times it has been Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones on the back end of a lash out from Mourinho due to their fitness and injury problems but as shown before whilst he was in charge of Chelsea – public criticism does not always bode well for the manager.

Our landlord is suggesting that Mourinho outlines clearly what he needs from his players in the pre-season, and deals with situations in house should they occur.

The last thing he needs in his second season at Old Trafford is a player revolt because he has lost the dressing room.
