It is fair to say that the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are feeling a bit nervous about the summer transfer window.
With many transfer rumours flying around the Tavern, the hope is that Ronald Koeman can build on an impressive first season at Goodison Park and get in the players he needs to take the club to next level, which is surely qualification for the Champions League.
Of course, there is a lot of talent at the club with the youth system at the club producing a lot of talent in recent years, with the last season especially prominent in terms of player development.
Our landlord believes the Toffees in the Tavern have a lot to look forward to in the long run and there is a young nucleus in the current Everton squad that can be built upon.
However, with that said, that does not mean that this summer will be a walk in the park for Koeman and the hierarchy at Everton.
Our landlord believes there are some key issues in the blue side of Merseyside that need to ironed out if the club are too progress further next season.
Whilst in discussion with his Everton regulars in the Tavern, between them they have outlined TWO issues Koeman needs to sort out in the summer.

Clarification on players’ future
In making this point, our landlord is pointing towards Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley in particular.
With both men understandably key parts of Ronald Koeman’s squad, losing them would be a major blow to the club’s aspirations of finishing in a Champions League place next season however what would be useful for the Toffees is clarification on whether or not the two players are looking to move on this summer.
Once this is worked out, it is then important for Koeman to replace them with similar quality players and try and build his squad for the start of the new season.
Away form
Whilst Ronald Koeman made his side formidable at home, our landlord has noticed many flaky performances from the Toffees on their travels.
Koeman’s men lost nine from nineteen of their away games in the league this season and if they are to progress to challenge for a top four place, the Everton fans in the Tavern are begging Koeman to devise a formula in the off-season that will enhance their chances away from home.
The common thought is that if they can improve their away form, a Champions League spot surely beckons.
